Play Neoclassical Chess ("Nc Chess") with this app ! You will also need a real chess board and chess set, as well as a physically present human opponent. The app provides the initial position for play. The app opens the door to an exciting "new classical" chess. Neoclassical Chess Schools is a free chess application. It is the scholastic version of Neoclassical Chess Basic, and is also appropriate for players of all ages without much previous chess experience or without detailed opening knowledge. It simultaneously serves as an initial stage of practice of Neoclassical Chess and as a tool for opening preparation and training in classical chess for those players that aspire to have a broad opening repertoire and desire to experiment all the important openings and find their style. It comprises 3 levels: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. The first two levels feature a reduced selection of the most important opening positions. The last level is very similar in character to Neoclassical Chess Basic (the version for experienced players), only with a smaller number of opening positions, approx. 100 that appear most frequently in chess master play. In Neoclassical Chess all rules are exactly as in classical chess, except that play starts after three full moves (in the Standard version) from White and Black, those of a game taken at random from a large, carefully selected database of recent chess master games. As a consequence, openings appear in proportion to their frequency in master practice, providing a single worldwide standard for play. The app provides the initial position and the moves leading to it just before the start of play. The app offers the Standard version (play after three full moves) as well as the introductory Neoclassical Black 2.5 version where Black starts play after the third move of White. Neoclassical chess is the domain of OTB (Over the Board) play, of live chess performance and creative play. It is also the only chess variant ever invented that fully respects the history of the game. That is why we say it is more than a variant: it is an "evolution" of chess, but it's above all chess.
